hunting with an sks?

I'm planning on taking my Russian into the bush this deer season for the first time. Picked up some soft points and they shoot great. It may prove to be a bit on the heavy side but removing the bayonet should help;)

If it's not scoped your going to have a task getting the iron sights to line up with the new barrel harmonics as pretty much all SKS were sighted in at the factory with the bayonet folded out in the ready to poke someone position.
