Looks like you were smart enough to keep (one of) your first rifle.
It was his Brother's rifle. His pride and joy with 76 years plus of using the same 22.
But that's another story.....

I sent a message to my CO at home and will relay the news. I'm not holding my breath.

Your link is to a french site, but I did look up the English site.Once again ,different laws for different people,no consistency in our laws.If these laws are really in place for public safety, there should be no exceptions.

Those regulations under the Firearm's Act, refer to Transporting a Non-restricted Firearm. Is shooting from a stationary motor vehicle the same thing as transporting? I'd sure argue that it isn't. Doesn't seem like correct interpretation of the word "Transporting".
(2) Subject to subsection (3), an individual may transport a non-restricted firearm in an unattended vehicle only if
Damn Noel those are some great pictures.......would love to hear that old boy's story one day......bet he has some tales to tell
YesDoes that old fella have a farm up north of Cochrane?
No, never has to my knowledge.I know I've chatted with him, and I just can't place it exactly... Does he have pigs?
I just love the fact that there is probably 50 or 60 years between the photo's but that rifle still looks good.![]()
I think it might be more along the lines of - If it's not in "use" or "storage" then it's in "transport". So then, a firearm in a unattended vehicle is in "transport" only because it's not in "use" or "storage". It can't be in storage because only your home is the storage place. It can't be in use because you are not there to use it. The problem is, that's not the section that matters when it comes to shooting from a vehicle. The firearm is not in "transport" when you are shooting it. It is in "use".
That’s awesome buddy, only the strong survive and you most definitely are a survivor.I hunt from. and am authorized to discharge my rifle from my ATV. I have a discharge permit for each calendar year, issued five years at a time by the Provincial Fish and Game Officers. I can also hunt and shoot from my truck when all conditions have been met for safe discharge. The reason for my discharge permit which applies to both Off-Highway Vehicles (OHVs), and commercial pattern cars and trucks is that I am a double, above-knee amputee thanks to a particulaarly clever Taliban Improvised Explosive Device (IED) command-detonated to take me out back in 2008. It worked for a few years, where I didn't hunt due to bigger ongoing life challenges, however I am happy to say that I returned to hunting and sport shooting with a vengeance around 5 yearrs after my physical wounds had mostly healed aside from minor revision surgeries.

how is it you speak for everyone just mind your situation and all will be fineA disabled or elderly person can hunt without having to discharge a firearm from a vehicle.I have helped a friend get his father to and from a stand where he sat in a comfortable chair with a rest to shoot off of.We drove him to his stand, and then drove the vehicle out of sight. If he bagged an animal,he still needed help to dress and recover it anyways,so he couldn't hunt totally on his own even if he could shoot from a vehicle.
We could just change the laws to allow everyone to do as they please. Would that be prefer to you?how is it you speak for everyone just mind your situation and all will be fine
Yes!!!We could just change the laws to allow everyone to do as they please. Would that be prefer to you?
Does that "discharge permit" automatically come included in the handy caped ATV "unrestricted usage" permit or is it a separate entity?I hunt from. and am authorized to discharge my rifle from my ATV. I have a discharge permit for each calendar year,
So just get rid of the regulations, including seasons and bag limits, in a few years the game is gone, and no more issues.Yes!!!
