I plan on going hunting with my SR22 soon in Ontario. I have all the necessary papers and cases but am wondering if I should expect a confrontation with the CO. if I get stopped.

Has this happened to anyone yet? What should I expect?

If a MNR guy seen you walking threw a field with that I would bet money he's going to stop and check it out. But its not illegal, you got nothing to worry about. Make sure you got your license cards on you, They will likely jump to conclusions but keep your cool and you will have nothing to worry about.

You will probably get stopped and checked no matter what firearm you are carrying. Totally legal so no worries.

When you see the white truck rolling...start running! Seriously though, the MNR is short staffed with one guy servicing a huge area. They are out there, but you dont often bump into them.

Yeah, what can you actually hunt with 22LR? I understand that there are "survival rifles" that are 22LR and in theory you can hunt deer and all that. But, given that you are not actually surviving, you are hunting for sport, what game can you legally and ethically hunt with 22LR?

I use my 22 to hunt Boone and Crocket squirrels... I also shoot coons and rabbits with it.. Other than that it's used mostly on cans and targets..

Partridge? Rabbit? Squirrel? Coyote? Raccoon?

Unless you are hunting around Kilmarnock, Smiths Falls, Addison or Toledo, then the 1 dickwad follows you around nearly every weekend because he's convinced you are doing something wrong since you are hunting.:bangHead:

I bet he's missed out on a TON of poaching charges or other offences since the goose pre-season because he's wasted all his time on us. He must live nearby and be too lazy to drive out anywhere else.

Edit: For the record, I have nothing against game wardens, I understand that they are needed because there are a tonne of poachers out there, but this one particular individual has really gone overboard with our group.

Mostly I hunt Partridge and rabbit with it. But you never know what run's through the wood's when you're DOWNWIND and DOWNSTREAM from a Nuclear Plant.......
