Hunting with rifle caliber handguns?

Anyone know why this isn't allowed?
Will this ever change?

Any thoughts?

1. Because handguns are restricted
2. Maybe, but not if the lefties get back in power.

It would be fantastic if that ever came about, but I can't see them ever letting Joe Gunnut wander around with a handgun, regardless of calibre. Restricted's will stay restricted.

It's mighty pretty... but yea... illegal. Funny when I look at it I see a Western style town in the ol days , when anything goes... ( Unless your with Judge Roy Bean!)

We all know how much more dangerous and concealable a 15" bbl handgun is, say, over a 18" carbine.

There are alot of big woods out there.

Live your life as you choose, as long as you arent' hurting anyone else.:)

Easy, there, big guy. You want the forum nannies lookin' over your shoulder, or what?;)

Not saying anything Joe.....I am not advocating doing something illegal. My comment could be interpreted many different ways.;)

In this case, I was simply feeling philisophical for a moment, imagining that we got legal handgun hunting in Canada.:) :p

Seems pretty stupid that the government trusts us not to go into town with a handgun but 100 miles out in the woods they still don't trust us! If it requires at least an "X" caliber cartridge to hunt "Y" animals what does it matter if it is a handgun or a rifle? Ya, I know, preaching to the choir! ;)

Anybody here gone handgun hunting in the USA? Or just buy those big TC handguns for the range?

I can load the same 240 grain XTP bullets in my M/L that I load for my S&W 44 Magnum... Philisophically speaking of course... Handgun hunting should be legal.

Handgun Hunting use to be leagal in Ontario in prior to 1970, please correct me if I'm wrong. But I guess that means they use to trust us, then we grew older, wiser, and less trustful.
