They are, but you could buy two Dominion Arms Grizzlies, and have enough money left over for range membership- for the price of Dlask.

could one put a pistol grip or a folding stock on one of these with it remaining non-res? im assuming not but if so that would be the best bush defense gun ever!

No unfortunately you can't.... As soon as you make the overall lenght of the gun less than 26 inches it becomes restricted...

i'm in the market for the 8.5 in, but I cant find where to buy them I live in vancouver bc. can anyone help me out here. thanks

Try phoning ISS (International Shooting Sports) in Surrey Guilford area (used to be "C+M", and later "Hunters"), a buddy of ours got one there a couple of months ago for $399.

Actually...probably not. I shot about 40 shots from one like that, and it was more than a handful. In fact it was right near the limits of safe handling really. And that was with light loads, basically "trap skeet" loads. Forget magnum loadings, I'd get hurt doing that. I mean, maybe a tactical entry team, with full face mask, pumped on adrenaline, body armor...then maybe it'd be ok, but with normal range safety attire? Not a good idea on the firing line. It would be better with a forward vertical grip, but even then a REAL handful. My buddy shot the lightest loads from it, and the front pump handguard leapt from his hand...and he's in construction!

Useful to defend against bears? Better than nothing...but far from ideal!
