Husqvarna 1640 plus goodies question

I'm itching for diversity (in my gun collection, don't get any ideas).

Thinking of selling a Husky 1640 in 9.3x62 in VG shape topped with a Burris Fullfield IV. Package would also include ca. 30 unfired PPU 286 gr, ca. 30 once used brass, 100 286 gr PPU bullets and RCBS dies.

Any ideas on value?

I'm wanting to buy a lever gun in 44 mag or a Henry Homesteader and some Glock mags, but need extra cash to do so.

Ah yes, diversifying your collection..,very wise. It will open vast new opportunities for learning and perhaps, provide experience previously unavailable to you. Very cool!

I paid a bit more retail for mine, but not much; great shape, no cracks, clean wood and metal, and a great QD german side mount scope mount. It really shoots.

Have picked up a couple nice ones a bit under IIRC. I think one wasn't a 1640, but an older one with FN 98 action, and the other was a commercially made 1640. The less expensive ones usually aren't 1600 or 1640. The least expensive are usually 96 action rifles.

$500 is about right. Sometimes can find a really nice one for a bit under. I tend to look for ones with iron sights, great bores, and drilled and tapped with mounts already.
 
Pictures of the rifle would help! As for intersurplus, it is really hit and miss, I have a friend that bought a bunch of husqvarna over the years and the few he bought lately were far from what I would consider buying. Even some of them were in-house rechambered 9.3x57….
For a really nice 1640 I would pay up to $650-700 but it has to be really nice, I have one in 30-06 featherweight with adjustable comb in really nice condition and I paid I think 750.

The only three 1640's they have in stock right now, none of them are gems...

Pickin's are slim for 9.3x62. There are pages of .30-06, so they would naturally be less expensive.

Yeah, I did the comparo, but mine is in much better shape. Gem? Pro'lly not, but good.

Anyhoo, thanks to one and all. Imma going to have to ponder this.

I bought a very nice 1640 in 9.3x62 a few years back. In the neighbourhood of 700 without scope. Can't do much for an estimate without pics.
