Husqvarna 4100?

Looks just like my husky h-5000 but I don't have the cheek piece just a raised comb. What cartridge is it chambered for, What stamps does it have?

You can also scan through some threads or post for help at gunboards.com where there is a swedish commercial arms collectors forum on their main board. These guys know their huskys inside out and is where I have gotten information when I needed it.
 
I think you have it right but I am no expert. It looks like a 4100 lightweight. Nice rifles eh! I don't know if I have ever thrown a slicker action than these 1640's.
 
I'm quite sure it's a 4100. That will get your attention in an 06 I bet. Nice handy rifles though. I'd suggest getting it bedded to ensure the stock doesn't get cracked, if it's not already. WhyNot is a resident Husqvarna expert.
 
it is a 4100. i just had one verified today, has same markings, same calibe but with a 24 inch barrel. even the stock looks the same. was manufactured between 1954 and 1972.

That's one of the earlier ones you have pictured.

ConTrol make great mounts. Having to shim is a common issue to be dealt with on these rifles - I have three of them.

I'll bet bases for a small ring Mauser (ie Swede) would fit.
 
Thanks, looks like one of the weaver mounts is ok but not the other. It came with 45/46 but that second add talks about either 45/56 or 35/25 as being the ones, I will see what I can find to get a match.Thanks,good info.

You need #55 and 46 Weaver bases. Contour, hole spacing and height will be correct with them.

Your rifle is indeed a Model 4100, and the 20 1/2" barrel is correct for this model. Does yours have the steel or alloy trigger guard/floor plate ass'y?

Chappy, your 24" barrel is either a custom installation, or if it marked Husqvarna Vapenfabriks is a barrel off a Model 3000, 6000 or 7000.

If it is an original Husqvarna barrel, it will actually be 23 3/4" long and considerably heavier contour than the 4100 barrel.

Mine has the alloy floor plate/trigger guard.I dont believe it has the adjustable trigger option either.This gun has not seen alot of use,the blueing is nearly perfect and the bore is very crisp and shiney.I have stripped the stock and am re doing with boiled linseed oil .I have found the weaver base that I need and will re assemble with alloy rings and a bushnell 3200 elite 3-9x40.
This is the third nice featherweight I have purchased this year the other two were a BSA imperial fwt and a new win 70 classis fwt, both which I have re sold.I just did'nt feel the love with the BSA and the win was too shiney and new,I would have been afraid to get it dirty.
So far I am feeling the love with this old Husky and think it will be my mountain rifle and moose gun.
 
You might want to consider bedding the action if it doesn't already have a crack through the wrist starting at the rear tang. Two of my Huskies developed this crack in short order - both were purchased new. And I've seen it in many other Huskies as well. Generally just seems to be a superficial crack, but it is unsightly and any crack has the potential to grow in size.

However... the crack in my .358 Norma Magnum Husky has never gotten any bigger, and if the recoil of Thor's Hammer in a rifle that light won't open a crack up, I don't suppose there's much chance anything else will.

I did the same thing, except wrapped the snot out of the wrist with surgical tubing after getting the glue in - and the crack was very tight, really had to carefully crank on it to get some glue in with a razor blade. However, I also bedded the action so that took care of the slop that was allowing the tang to beat up on the wrist of the stock. Either way, no more problems.

You really should look at those ConeTrol mounts. They are light, slick, and attractive as you could hope for.

Go to gunboards.com schroll down to Swedish sporting rifles. Enter your rifles info ser. # etc. and these guy's will date it exactly for you.
