I got a Husky 9.3x57 a while ago (on an M96 action) and considered getting it rechambered to 9.3x62 but was advised against it as it shouldn't be loaded "to its potential". There are M96's so chambered but apparently one has to respect the smaller action and load accordingly.
There are a few 9.3 shooters on CGN who should be able to chime in (Noel being one; I know he has a x57 on a 98 action. Daryl Sapergia as well, but I'm not sure of his nickname here). In the meantime you might wander off to the Swedish Civilian Arms forum at http://forums.gunboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=50. I know there's a lot of info on the x57 there and likely on the x62 as well since there are a lot of Husqvarna rifles in those calibres coming into the US via Allan's Armory in Florida, just as Anthony at Trade Ex does for us.

I have a couple of 9.3s, a x57 and a x62 (and an x74R on the way). Used to have a 9.3x60 as well. Using factory ammo, I see no real issues with small ring Swedish Mausers in either of these calibers. The problem comes when people (and we are all guilty of it) want to hotrod the round ("just a little" we say). Then the extra strength of the 98 becomes an asset. The small ring x62 was used by thousands of Swedes for decades with no problems I ever heard of. I think we worry a bit too much. - dan

Thats a more complicated question than you realise. Husqvarna made several different models that people lump together as "model 96" type. These actions vary in relative strength. Unless you know the difference between the various models you should not push the pressure envelope too hard.
Triggers built for the swedish M94 and M38 military action will fit the "model 96" type Husqvarna actions. Minor fitting may be required on some of them.
Using modern reloading components in the 9.3x57 it is very possible to get substantial improvement over the old factory standard velocity at safe pressure levels, in fact very close to standard 9.3x62 performance.
