I am looking at a very well used Husky 4100 30-06. She is pretty dinged up but could be cleaned up and stock re finished. The one thing that is holding me back from buying it is the hinge floorplate is broken. When you release the floorplate the whole thing comes out.The owner has a screw with a washer that the front edge tucks under to hold it in place.
I am wondering about having this fixed or possibly finding a new assembly???

This will be a very tough part to find or fix. What is the asking price of the rifle? If very reasonable you may want to replace the bottom metal and stock with Mauser. Both would have to be done as the triggerguards on the Husqvarna's are much wider.

A little more research has me less certain I am correct.
"Sounds like yours is an HVA like mine. Lightweight 20" barrel with sights, and schnabel forend. Mine has the aluminum bottom metal. The action screw spacing is the same as a M98 not the M96. Barrel threads will be that of a M96. The catch is, its outside dimensions of the receiver are a bit more trim than the M98. I suppose a little bedding compound would allow you to use a M98 stock. "
Copied this off another board. Best bet is to measure centre to centre of your action screws and go from there.

Pat is correct. Screw spacing is the same and bottom metal for a 98 Mauser will work, however the receiver ring diameter of the 4100 action is smaller than a 98. If you use a stock already inletted for a 98, you can bed it into the stock with tinted Acraglas and it will look not too bad .

Believe me when I tell you I have done this a few times, because the original Husqvarna alloy floorplates are very hard to find. :)

The other thing you can do, since the stock is beat up a bit and is going to be refinished, would be to bed a 98 floorplate into the HVA stock. This is a bit trickier than bedding the action, but if I can do it, you certainly can.

Hmmm this is not sounding that easy.It is a widow selling her late hubby's guns and she is asking $500. I was going to let it sit a week or so then offer her $200.I could live with it the way it is just for a beater gun if I can get it cheap. This old fella really did not take care of his guns, there is a Savage 24v 30/30 /20ga over under there that has a gear clamp holding the front wood to the barrell! she wants $300 for that one.
