I own a Husqvarna, Carl Gustav in 30-06 and left hand action that I purchased new back in 1975 and will probably never part with it as they are to me a perfect fit. But got to wondering just what ever happened to these fine rifles and if they are currently made and better yet being imported?

Antonio Zoli bought not only the rights to the model 1900 but also the tooling and machinery for manufacturing it. So the only real difference is that the metalurgy is likely a bit different. Armurier-quebec in St-Roch De L'achigan Quebec currently import the AZ1900.

If you want info on value or other details I would suggest checking out the Swedish Civilian & Sporting Firearms forum on the Gunboards website. I know theres a few people on GunNutz who use that forum as well and it is a great resource for info on scandanavian firearms.

And to think I turned down an exact copy in .270 Win. Kick Myself.

Husqvarna was merged with Carl Gustav into FFV (Förenade Fabriksverken) in 1970.
Carl Gustav was already a subsidary of FFV since 1943. Before, FFV was mostly in big bores (cannons, missiles and ammunitions) while Carl Gustav was manufacturing small arms.

Carl Gustav stopped producting the 1900 (1970) sporting rifles in 1983, but the trade name continued, for a couple of years first in Belgium (on their own machinery) and later by Antonio Zoli in Italy (wich bought the machinery). Today, there are still Antonio Zoli rifles made with Husqvarna name.

Electolux never bought Husqvarna Vapenfabriks AB, they bought the gardening division (Husqvarna AB) in 2006. The motorcycle division went to Italian company Cagiva (MV Agusta Motori S.p.a.) in 1987 and in 2007, BWM took them over.

The Husqvarna sewing machine division changed it's name for Viking Sewing Machines (VSM Group, Aktiebolag), wich was bought by Kohlberg who already owned Singer and the two companies will be merge into one soon.

P.S. BTW, nice rifle. Can you provide S/N for the survey we are putting together (use X for the two last digits, if you want to).

Husqvarna sold the rights to AZ man y years ago. They are now manufacturing it under their name. The prices are ridiculous.

Ted

Just out of curiosity, how much do they go for? I tried searching on the zoli.it website and also the quebec importers site and found no prices. $3k to $5k maybe? They sure are purdy rifles.
