Husqvarna Sporting Rifles #### - ALL MODELS!!!

And while I am posting here, a photo of one of my current projects. This rifle (30-06) came from a member on here, sans stock, and I have repaired, and refinished this stock, bedded, and fit the recoil pad. It seems a bit slow, but is very accurate with the 150's, 165's, and 180's I've tried in it.

Great looking rifle!

Decided to modify myself my 9.3x57 Model 46 bolt handle for scope use. Apologies for the cell phone pics.

Before with high rings, no clearance even for the power adjustment ring with high/Tall scope rings, never mind the wider ocular lens bell.

After grinding.

Now clears all but the lens cap.

How?

Needed to grind about half of the bolt thickness.

That's exactly what these Swedes would have done!

I've been messing around with a .300WM rechambered from a .30-06 lately. It might be of note that I measured the twist rate at 1 in 12.75". That's pretty slow!

I also noticed a small stress crack right behind the recoil lug. No idea how long it's been there. To remedy this, I installed a "hidden" crossbolt. I removed wood where the crack is, and epoxied in a piece of 1/4" threaded rod with one edge filed flat. The recoil lug bears against the flat side of the rod. At the least, the rod should be like a piece of rebar in the epoxy. I also bedded the whole recoil lug inlet. Hopefully, it will dissipate the recoil nice and evenly. Being a lightweight magnum, that recoil is quite excessive. The epoxy is setting up now, and I'm sitting here hoping I didn't glue the whole gun together. No pics, sorry, I got too into it as I was going.

I've seen some Husqvarna's for sale online with an oversized black bolt handle. Can anyone tell me about these? Is it something slipped on over the regular handle, or is it set that way with no changing it?

googling this, I'm finding rubber bolt knob covers online. But the Husqvarna's I see have a bit of shine to them. So I'm just wondering if this is a removable thing or not.

They usually are rubber balls slipped over the handle knob. Sometimes They are epoxyed, but they can also be threaded hard plastic replacing the original bolt knob.

Normal twist for all .30 calibers is 1:12" was it
308 Win, 30-06, .300 WM or the elusive. 308 NM

Thanks... my cleaning rod might have slipped 3/4" when I checked it. I'll be at the range soon to see how it will stabilize a 200 Accubond.

The bedding job went well!

Thank you. I'll have to ask the seller about it. I suppose a threaded one can be brought back to normal with some gunsmithing. Or maybe I'll like it.

Searching on the net, I think it's a Husqvarna 1900 V-T that I came across. 6.5x55. Baribal, what do you know about these that would be different from the standard ones?

Barrel length, contour, twist, stock differences?

Edit: I see it should be 27.5", much heavier. I wonder what they handle like and weigh.

Edit 2: Found an old brochure. Barrel is .850", gun weighs 9.5lbs. This thing is a beast.

Do you know what the twist would be?

The 6.5X55 V-T (like all others HVA CG FFV rifles of the same caliber) have 4 lands and grooves and a twist rate of 1:8". They will handle the 160 grainers.

I have a 1600 in 8x57. The rifle feeds good but when extracting the empty the bolt pulls the case halfway out then release the empty case , I have to pull the case out by hand. I’m not sure if this is the best place to ask but I thought I would start here.

Interesting.....I had a 1969 Husqvarna Swede Deluxe w/ the 1900 action in .30-06...it acted exactly the same with any brass cases ammo, however the Winchester Ballistic Silvertip ammo in the silver nickel cases...worked flawlessly. Thus I used that quality ammo for many years and never gave it a second thought..
