Husqvarna Sporting Rifles #### - ALL MODELS!!!

There is a pic, like 3 posts up lol.
Thanks gent's, this one has a solid left wall commercial '38 receiver. Whoever owned it took very good care of it over the last 70 years, bluing is still very nice and shiny black, stock is in very nice shape with only a couple dings, I like the low profile wide forend on it, the low swing safety is way nicer then what Timney puts out today, tiny bit of rust around the rear sight base and sling swivel base but cleaned up well. Pretty amazing quality for $300. Even the Weaver scope was in great shape....

Stretched her legs today, German post 2.5x Lyman on her, she's a keeper, shot the 196gr great, so it will be my bush gun.

Thumbtack remnants.... Lol

Ah sorry! Didn't connect the posts together. Beauty rifle!

these Tradex rifles are a real bargain. Swedish shooters loss is our gain. In a few years we will look back at these rifles like we now look back at Milsurp prices of 25 years ago.
Right you are buckbrush.
A cabinet full of 6.5x55mm, 7x57mm, 30/06, 8x57mm, 9.3x57, 9.3x62mm ... all kick-ass Swedish M96/M98 rifles awaiting vviking to get around to playing with .....
Retirement is looking good from here ....

I'm not looking at Tradex website again until at least January.... There are at least a dozen other ones that caught my eye....

So this walnut commercial m38 sporter arrived today, and it's a bit nicer then I thought. The follower was covered in dried grease as was most of the inside of the receiver. Inside of the receiver is polished pretty shiny and in the white, and would have to have been done after the blueing. There are no brass marks on the bolt face at all, no copper or carbon in the bore, checkering is sharp as the day it was cut, I'm not sure it's seen a box of shells, and I actually don't think I'll fire it at all...its just too nice. One thing has me stumped is the front receiver screw is seized tighter then a ducks arse, won't budge at all so I can't get the action out of the stock. There is no signs of bedding, so it's not that. Any idea how to get it loose? I got some penetrating oil on it now, but I doubt it will creep where it needs to....I'd feel like a tard bringing it to the smith to remove it for me lol.

Well I guess the Swedish gun gods were shining on my ass....the penetrating oil worked, screw came right out tonight. The entire gun under the stock line was covered in grease, cleaned it up, oiled it, and stuffed it in a gun sock in the safe....never to be seen again lol.

Picked this FN Husky up in 8x57 recently. Good condition, good price, good shooter!

This is a Model 640 in a replacement stock. May or may not be from HVA, as they did make replacement for the beech stocks. HVA stocks have inspector's stamp under the bolt release lever and under the chamber area.

I'll check it out tonight, the name plate says H.A. 28-06-1951 so it was given to someone a few years after it was made.

Well, maybe yes, maybe no... It might be the date when the stock was swapped and the initials of the owner, but who knows?.

I took them both apart, only mark I could see on either stock was a 1 or an L in the beech stock in the fatter part of the barrel inletting, nothing under the bolt release. The walnut was sanded in that part so if there was a mark it's gone.
They both have a little screw hole near the middle of the skinny part of the barrel inletting, I guess they would put a screw in there to hang the stocks from while the finish was applied? They certainly look identical as far as the inletting, checkering, same buttplates and swivels....just the cheekpiece being different on the walnut obviously.
