Husqvarna Sporting Rifles #### - ALL MODELS!!!

The 1600 / 400-4100 have a different barrel profile than the longer barreld 1640, so you need the correct stock. Also, there is more than one slight difference within the YOM, means bolt release button, bottom mmetal etc...
 
Just purchased this and being my first husqvarna i really dont know much about them other than reading this thread which has been excellent. I dont yet have it in hand but was advertised as a Husqvarna 98 Featherweight. I havent been able to find anything about this model and feel it may be something different. Anyone care to weigh in as to what I have. Thanks very much

Nope. It's ain't a 98, it "seems" to be a 4100. What's the caliber and barrel lenght? It should be 20.47"
The 4100 is one of the 1600 "familly".

Thanks for your help good Sir! It is a 30-06. Im not sure the barrel length yet as i dont have it in hand. It is missing the rear sight and appears in decent shape. When I get it I will snap some pics and post them for some assistance. Now the question is what is the value of this rifle as I hoping I didnt over pay.

$500+/- range if it's not rusty.
 
Thats excellent guys thanks very much. Value is often what one is willing to pay and when i saw this one I got the bug so I feel happy with it. Nice that the price was in check too. Im thinking of stipping the stock down and refinish it, oil finish and then use it hunting. I will post more pics once I get it. Thanks everyone.

Not 100% sure from the pictures you show, but if your rifle has a 20.47" barrel, it's more of a modified 1600 Std stock than a 1640, which have a 23.62" barrel.
Now, is of the European lineage of models, while Marty's one is of "North American" model line. This can easily be said by the stock itself as Euro std models don't have the fore end checklering.

Well looks like I may have lucked out with it then if there were that many of us lurking on it hahaha.

And from the pics the barrel does not look like a nearly 24"er. But thats me
 
Picked up this today, never owned Husqvarna before but thought it was a nice looking rifle . Looks like a aftermarket trigger and the smoothest safety I ever seen

What you have probably is a slightly moidified (customized) European model 1640 MC, similar N-A's own 3000 Crown Grade, but usually without the heavy plastic stock finish and also without bolt jewelling.
As for the trigger, I can't say for sure, but at first glance it looks like a Timney with a shoed trigger... but it can be another make too, there are a lot of European made triggers too.

" Only one more ".... I've told myself that a few times as well about the offerings from Tradex only to break that promise almost as soon as " only one more " arrives. Sure have picked up some nice rifles and other goodies from those guys, no doubt about that.
