Husqvarna Sporting Rifles #### - ALL MODELS!!!

@Barabal #Barabal .

I am going to try to post photos in this message; if not, do you have an email or phone where I can send my info. I could only post one photo in in the tread, and am unable to post any in this message. My email is in the PM I sent you.

Here are the dimensions:

Total overall length approximately 5 3/32" ( a little under 5 1/8")

Distance between screws is between 3 7/16" and 3 1/2"

Width at widest point iis ever so slightly over 1 5/8"

I am also missing the original screws.

Have a look and let me know if you have something that will work for me.

Thanks in advance,

Drop me a PM when you get a chance.

Thanks,

Mark

Mark,
Will answer you, it's bear hunting season around here, so I am not always around...

Going to have to post photos later, the rifle I recently bough arrived. A husqvarna M98. The bore looks excellent! Nice sharp rifling and shiny bore.

Going to have to clean up the steel and do some work on the stock.

Happy since it's really easy to cycle it left handed. Super smooth cycling of the bolt :D

Nice thing with this rifle, super smooth bolt cycling is helpful when using my left hand to cycle the bolt. Also tried to cycle it using my right hand honding the rifle with my left hand. Bit more fun.

Very nice!!! 30-06? Any idea of date? it appears to have a later bolt release and the thumb safety. My flag safety was reworked by a previous owner, but it does not quite clear my scope to get it into "lock" position. Those bolts are smooth!!

I don't have any idea on DOM. Possibly someone else would? My rifle has a safery on the tang.
Yeah, very smooth bolt! Probably going to be a bit smoother when I clean the action :D

I have started sizing up .30-06 brass to make 9.3 x 62 brass. Pretty easy so far, only splitting about 1 out of 15 or so. I need to get a better case trimmer, they do come out long. I am just using my RCBS sizing die, with a bit of fluid-film to lube the inside of the neck. I would love to post photos, but my thing is full, and I have no idea how to empty it.

If some of your necks are splitting to go from .308 to 9.3 mm, maybe consider to anneal them - I am taking new PPU 8x57JS up to .41 Mag diameter without any splitting so far - I go to 9.3 mm (from 8mm) in one jump, then use 41 Mag die to get nearly straight wall case - without case neck splits. Or possibly try 8mm or .338 expander ball as intermediary step if you have those - but should not be necessary?

It's a pile of once fired stuff; mixed head-stamp. Some case mouths are not in perfect condition. I was surprised how little force is required to size these up. I wish I could have got some 8mm once fired, but new is almost as expensive as new 9.3 brass.

What you have there is a 1640 Std made in 1961, which is HVA's own version of a mix of M98 and M94/96/38. It uses some safety features of the M98 while using the breaching system of the M94/96/38.

Well, I tried again. Top photo from left to right: 1. Once fired 30-06; 2. After resizing; 3 Factory new 9.3 x 62 brass; 4. One of my loads in a factory new PPU brass and PPU 286 g JSP. Bottom is two that failed; generally very little force required.

Without pictures and from your serial #, it's a model 46A chambered in 9.3X57, if chambered in 9.3X62, it's a rechambered rifle. SN 406XX was made in 1942, using new M38 receiver.
