no, I have several and Intersurplus has 4 pages of them. Also are 1640s in 6.5x55 considered rare?.
This look like a sporterized K98, Is there a Husqvarna crest on the receiver?Good Afternoon Baribal: I’m a new member on this site. I can tell you that I’m very impressed with your encyclopedic knowledge of Husqvarna firearms. I have a 1600 in 30.06 that is my go to deer rifle. I also own a M98 (I think). I’ve had it for around 40 years and not only was it my go to deer rifle, it was my only rifle for a long time. It’s a .270 with a 24” barrel and what appears to me a sportered original military stock with a large steel buttplate. Serial # 112***. I was hoping to obtain a positive I.D. And hoping you could give me some pointers to that end. Appreciate your time!
if you want to replace it by an "original" look for a "beavertail" or the later schnabel 640 stock. An original 1000/1100, 1950/1951 stock is almost impossible to find.Appreciate your reply. There is a Husqvarna crest on the receiver and the Husqvarna Vapenfabriks A.B .270 WINCH on the barrel. So I guess it’s a frankengun of sorts? It’s kinda homely but I got it for a song and it has served me well. Thanks again for sharing your expertise.
The second rifle you show seems to be a Carl Gustav model 3000 / Sauer 90Hey gents, I have been on the hunt for a crown grade Husky or Carl Gustaf in 30-06 for a while now. Please let me know if you have one for sale as I am looking for one in mint condition. Cheers
Well, let's say that I had the chance to handle and examine a sh$tload of these rifles and that I'm glad I didn't have to buy them all to do soI don’t really want to upgrade. It’s kind of an orphan but as my son says,” It’s got soul”. It’s great to learn its history. My Dad was fond of saying that “very rarely is an education free”. I’m certain that your education and experience weren’t free, yet here you are providing this community with information and advice free of charge. Just a breath of fresh air. Thanks
I just pulled a sight hood off a 146 i am customizing to suit as a bush stalker. I don't like sight hoods on bush guns so it won't be going back on. You can have it free of charge if you can get an address to me.Would anyone have a spare one possibly kicking around that i could pay for?.

This combo usually needs shims to make it straight. 46 and 55 usually don't.Another scope mount option
My most recent 1640 purchase came with Weaver #25 rear #35 front just a tad lower than #46 & #55
