Husqvarna Sporting Rifles #### - ALL MODELS!!!

Husky Mfg date/serial #s

Good start for a sticky on Husqvarnas.

I have been into M96's for a while, admiring their built quality. Just discovered Husqvarna 1600 series and was looking for a source of info on them. Very little on the net.

Does anybody know how to determine manufacturing date, using serial number? Thanks.

Home3, Try this website..www.*skydevaaben.*com/*hvasno/*info.*xml I have a rechambered 9.3 x62 mod 46AN, 1936 mfr and like you I had a devil of a time getting any info to ID it...give it a try.

Well, there are some light errors here and there, since it's a partial translation of the Jaktvapen book.

Oldsoldier, you say you have a rechambered 46AN, but if it's in 9.3X62, it's not a rechambering, it's the original chambering. And these are easy to identify because they are marked "Svenskt Nickelstal Antioxid" on the barrel and were only made in 228 exemplaries in 1942/43... If it's a rechambered rifle, my guess goes to a 46 rechambered from 9.3X57 to 9.3X62..

All the original 9.3X57 are only marked "9.3mm" on the barrel, while original factory chambered X62 are marked "9.3X62", without the "mm".

A few of my Husqvarnas, for your viewing pleasure.

For the link, see above.

Regarding the HVA Models 2001 and 2002, check out for the early Krico 600 series. 222 Remingtoin was the chambering they offered to compete against the Sako Vixen. All in all, they're not really HVA rifles.
I think Trade Ex also had some of these on their website.

Thanks Baribal. I realise they were not made by HVA but by Krico in Germany. They were known as the H-5000 under the HVA name. I was just wondering about all around quality.

Actually, H-5000 was a Tradewinds name for the Krico 700 series, wich is the long action, after their deal with HVA ended. But it was also the name for the HVA 1640 based "Husky" rifle... Tradewinds was very good when it came to mixing stuff and people...
HVA called the Krico 600 series 2001 and 2002 and they were only chambered for the 222 Remington while Tradewinds imported them directly from Krico and called it 601K (222 Rem), 602K (222 Rem. Mag), 603K (243 Win), 605K (.308 Win), 607K (22-250 Rem) and finally 608K (223 Rem).

These actions are often quoted as "Miniature Mausers" and are of very good quality.

That makes it as clear as mud. :) I had heard that Tradewinds had bought the H-5000 moniker from HVA (for $10,000) and used it to market the Krico 600 series. No matter as I have been doing a little more research and it turns out they are a quality rifle. Thanks for your help.

I do believe the Husky-5000 name was a Tradewinds creation, not HVA. The guy that owned Tradewinds tried selling the name to a US HVA Guru for $10k years ago.

This is correct. "Husky" was a Tradewinds registered trade mark and it was also used by Ruko in Canada.

Model 3000,??? 30-06 in left hand.

How many in Left Hand were produced and is this a Model 3000 ?

The iron sights were removed and a J.P.Suhl recoil pad was installed.

From your pics, it looks like what was called "Grade II" of the "Trofé" trim, made after 1971.
It is not known how many lefties were made, but they are much less common than the "standard" ones..

Been watching this thread for a while now, what a bunch of beauties you guys have.I just started working on my project Husqvarna.its a 1600 deluxe model A, I believe, in .30-06.monte Carlo stock, from 1962(according to the serial).Bluing is not bad but, Im going to polish it to a high shine and reblue it.the stock is a bit beat up, but has potential. An old rifle, but the bore is in great shape and its a real shooter.I just stripped the wood last night and planning on staining it.Any suggestions to what colour/pattern?Its a Tradex find, and Im pretty excited.I will take some pics to post later.

Baribal, I believe you are correct about the left hand versions being much less as I was once told by the dealer who sold it to me that only 2,000 were made in L.H. for world distribution back then. I have only seen 3 in left hand since 1976 (one in Detroit). Undoubtedly more are in Canada. But how would you value one based on a left hand rarity as it must play somewhat of a factor wouldn't you say?

Hard to say, it really depends how much one wants to spend on it. I don't really like given values over the Internet without have the rifle in my hand to verify it, but you can count on something like up $ 750.00 $ to maybe $ 950.00 for a VG condition.. But, I am not in the market of left handed rifles, and I guess some serious shooter / collectors may want to spent some $$$ on a leftie. 1900 rifles are now on the rise as for value / demand. As for the production numbers, it's impossible to know how many were made, we are still guesstimating for the numbers of the whole production.
I really doubt there are any possibilities to say any numbers regarding the lefties. I have at least 5 of them in Canada in my database.

Dash77,

Stripping and staining the stock will definitely devaluate the rifle unless it is really, really well done (but even there, it won't add any value). Same for blueing, as HVA used very deep blueing wich you won't be able to mate eaily. But, he! it's your rifle.

Just checked out the AZ1900 on the website and man, they are top drawer for sure and top pricing no doubt as well. Real beauties especially given the detail to the takedown option available elsewhere on the 1900 action. I personally don't know which is worse. The fact that many high end rifles are NOT available in left hand or the other impediment of high end cost when they are available. Sure glad I came to my senses and backed out of selling mine years ago. Knowing the perspective buyer it would not have been treated well, at all.

Baribal, thanks for the coments.Im not trying to preserve value, or add value, just wanna "fix her up" a bit.It has a few dents and scratches.A quick update, started staining it, reddish brown on the stock and dark dark walnut bown on the end caps.Tru oil goes on tonight.I was so excited I forgot to take pictures of it all stripped.Pics will follow.

Welp, here's one my son picked up recently, in .308. From the above, looks like a 1640 or maybe the 4100 (I'll look again and see if it has the steel floor plate and trigger guard. Just got his license and has had it put away for him for awhile. Cycles well and Shoots quite nicely, He's pretty happy. So am I.

...ok, what the hell is a "URL"? Can't ya' just go to "My Pictures" and tap?
