That must be the one I have. Got it from Milarm and found a bolt in the US. Took over a year to find and was expensive! But then again, the search is most of the fun.

that would be the one, i held it in my hands and thought about the chances of ever finding a bolt for it. they tried to tell me that a gunsmith should be able to modify a mauser 98 bolt to fit..

They were wrong, but a M98/40 bolt does fit (and mine headspaced perfectly). I had to go to the tulsa, OK gunshow to find a US$350 barrelled 98/40 action. I took the bolt home and an American friend took the barrelled receiver and sold it on an auction site to help me out.

That's the first rifle other than an Enfield I've seen with a wrist strap. Is the stock two piece? Does it serve the same purpose as on an Enfield?

that rifle sat at Milarm for years. when I finely broke down and decided to buy it, it had been sold.

Isn't that always the way it works out.I can't say how many times over the years that has happened to me.The only way to cure it is to act faster. My problem now is that I don't always have the cash on hand to match my reflexes and my wife keeps a fairly close eye on my purchases these days!

Saw one mismatched in the States for 750 and I regret the hell out of not buying and importing it.
