A friend of mine just had the opportunity to buy a HVA sporter in 270 Winchester sans bolt. He asked me if a bolt could be found. From what I can learn the early HVA 98 mauser sporters had FN made actions. But production began in Sweden of Huskys own small ring mauser action and are not interchangeable with regular 98 bolts. Is this true? I cautioned him that may be a tough thing to find and don't pay too much for the rifle even if he gets it.

You have to determine just what sort of rifle he's looking at. Up to the mid-50's - 60's (?) Husqvarna used FN 98 actions. The 1600 series was a proprietary small ring action that had features of both M96 and M98 actions, with some peculiar quirks of it's own. Finding a replacement bolt will be tough, they won't interchange with an M98 style. The M98 bolt will be expensive, but not impossible to find.

Looks like a true Husky. Has checkered stock, 20.5 inch barrel. schnabel forend, serial number over 200,000. Has side safety behind bolt handle notch. Pretty good shape, nice handy rifle.

Yes, saw that bolt. Should be the right one assuming it headspaces correctly. Not up on the Swedes but most of the German produced K98's will headspace correctly with just about any German/Czech produced bolt at least the wartime ones will in my experience.
