I'm trying to get the value of a HVA Featherweight serial #307### in 30:06 with a box magazine underneath a hinged floor plate and glass bedded. Very good condition, nearly untouched. Beautiful rifle but I don't' want to pay too much.

Any help is appreciated.

It is worth what someone will pay for it. The Husqvarna have, in my opinion, been under appreciated. I would take that rifle, in excellent condition, ahead of, for example, a new Tikka, anyday.
But that is only me. I would guess it would sell for about $500, maybe 550.

The old hva rifles were quality made, and as h-4831 said would be in my opinion better than a lot of offerings these days.

If in really nice shape 5- 600.00 would be about right.

Be sure to examine the grip for cracks though, was fairly common with those rifles.

Prices are in the range I was thinking. As for cracks, none but then very few down the pipe as buddy was fearful hunting with it, it's been a safe queen. Is there anything that can be done to prevent cracks, I'd plan on hunting with it?:ar15:

Thanks for the opinions gentlemen.

The 1640/1600 are less prone to crack at the tang than the 640. to prevent the crack, HVA used a either a SS (only on certain models) or a brass threaded rod through the web between the magazine and the trigger well. If the stock was bedded, the reason behind the operation often was a cracked web, so there will be no need to do any more intervention.

The value of an all original 4000/4100 may be between 400.00 $ to 550.00 $, depending on caliber (the 7X57 may bring higher prices) and condition. As a collector standpoint, a bedded stock will often lower the price, depending on job finish.
The 30-06 is the most common "lightweight" chambering, but at the end, the value is how bad you want the rifle.
