Hydro dipped rifles

Does anybody own any of the Varmint rifles that the barrelled actions are covered with hydro dipped graphics? Do they do a good job of corrosion resistance? Do you still oil the exterior of them? has it peeled back and let you see what's going on under there with the metal.

I own a savage 10xp predator in real tree hardwoods snow camo. I just clean it normally and it's held up well. Some wear on the bolt knob but that's to be expected.
