Hydro Dipped Weatherby Vanguard S2 270

This is my sons latest hunting rig compliments of Dad paying for everything but the talleys.
Its a hydro dipped vanguard S2 in 270.It started out as one of the fugly graphic schemes from weatherby and at $499 last fall from WSS was a good deal.The Hydro Dip was on sale @$150 all in,my son chose a gold overlay with the carbon fibre look is matt finsh.Topped it off with a Vortex Viper HS 4-16x50 courtesy of Dad.Time to get this one sighted in for upcoming hunting season.

Ha too funny I still have my 223 in flamer and I'm too cheap to wrap my own. The snow camouflage one is even uglier it's got a pink tinge too it.Gag!

You don't do anything yourself, it's done by a local company. Drop off stock, pony up the $150 and your good to go.

I dig that.

Almost bought one the other day. Called the shop, price was right put it on hold. Went there a couple hours later and it was an S1, not an S2. Clowns.

Stock looks really good.

Lookin' good! How's she shoot? I have a wood stock in .270 as well but have been struggling to keep a consistent sub-moa performance out of it. It's either printing 0.4"s cuz it likes the load, or 1"+ for the most part. Sometimes that 1/2" group in the load test is a fluke I'll do up another 20 of that load, shoot 4/5 groups 1"+ and the 5th will be the "fluke" 1/2". Frustrating.
