I All,
I'm a hunter from Montréal. Sorry for my bad english. I mainly hunt deer and small games. In my province, there is a strong opposition against firearms, from the right to the left political wings. My opinion is that it's a demagogic position who pretend to protect people from themselves. It lead to a totalitarian state where only criminals and cops is armed, that is for me an undemocratic regime. I truly support the right for every citizen to possess, wear, exchange and trade firearms without control from any authority. Well, you now know me a little more.
Glad to register to this forum. Lots of article to read.

Hello and welcome. Your English is far, far, better than my French. I agree with you about the undemocratic way Canadian firearms laws are applied to gun owners. Unless Parliament changes them, they are what we must live by. Unfortunate but real. I hope you enjoy this site.

Thank you all for your welcome.
To Hoser-eh: Im not part of any shooting club for now. I know that it's a condition for obtaining a permit for "restricted" weapons ( and I will obtain it in a near future), but a good old target in a rural field area satisfied my need.
To MTF: I will never vote for Harper just for the reason he have the right position on gun owning. The rest of it's political program is just pathetic. But you are right. Laws will change only if the debate on firearms will not be under influence of emotional populist propaganda caused by mentally ill killers.
To Tiina: Je suis sûr que Montréal te manque un peu quelques fois :).Au fait, je me pose la question sur ma prochaine arme de chasse, 30-06 ou 7mm mag? Ton opinion?
