I don't think so, but it's the market that will decide in the end. Your file is heavily customized, you might have more luck if you sell it off as components.

I'm a Savage fan and wouldn't question the capability of your .308

Now this is just my opinion, but I truly believe you are going to lose money on the current setup. I think your best bet is to replace the original stock and sell the XLR stock separatley.

I could be wrong tho.... Good luck on your sale

I've noticed the E.E. has been very slow the past couple months. Items that would've been gone in a couple days sit for weeks. Don't know if it's just because of Summer and there's less traffic, or if everybody is broke??

I sold the factory stock so I would like to sell it as is.
At this price, I already lose at least 500 bucks. Its not that I really need money right now but its boring to see it sitting in the safe aside my new rig.
My friend own a BAS in 308 which is a really nice factory rifle. Ive tried it a couples of time and this stock has nothing to envy to a Savage BAS stock. I don't want to say the Savage stock is not good but the XLR is as good or slightly better.

Well I'm gonna be patient... Thx guys !

I was thinking selling it at the end of summer. I was looking at Sako TRG, ATRS, PGW... And I found an amazing deal on this one so that's why I sell the Savage.

You could leave the price as is, and wait.
Or, you could drop the price, say $25 or $50, every time you BTT the ad.
It boils down to how motivated a seller you are.

As already mentioned the issue is the rifle is exactly the way you want it. The price doesn't seem out of line. Although expect some negotiation from that point. But as the rifle is how you want it there may only be a few others out there who also want the rifle in that configuration. Consider also that many buy Savage as a good performing budget rifle. The Remington crowd, Tikka, Sako etc might be more likely to want a rifle in that configuration. Personally I agree with others here and would put it back to stock then sell the chassis separately. It's an easier sell for someone to justify buying a new stock for the rifle they already have compared to spending almost 2k on a Savage rifle with the stock. Again the Savage is considered a cheaper but good performing solution.

It's slow right now. Spring is best before shooting season. Many are out doing stuff and not checking the EE right now. You might find the right buyer. But your timing is off and you have less people looking right now. Avoid around Christmas as well. For a buyer this is when you want to be looking. :D

No. Right buyer, right time. Savages are shooters but they suffer from the stigma of not having a snotty pedigree. Dude, if my house sale finalized month sooner, this thread would not exist. We still may talk yet.

It's really too complicated to answer in a two-choice question, but I appreciate the honest introspection by the OP, something that most of Canada lacks.

Going by the used=2/3 new price $1300 is the sell #.
I would consider that, but no more. Remember anyone
could buy a stock Savage for $1k or so and shoot as well
as this one does. No one has bought it because they
are worried it wouldn't resell at the same price. Also 308
"tactical precision" rifles are often starter guns. For hunting
308 is too light to reach way out there.

The problem is not your price. It's the combination. The XLR chassis is not for everyone so unless a buyer is looking for your exact combination they will not be interested.

My recomendation is to sell the barreled action and stock separately. Decide which is least important to retain and sell that first, then oput the other piece on the market. I would suggest action first.

Yeah you're price is too high., but you're getting closer. Barreled action is worth about 500, stock 800, mount 75. Let me know. I'd likely buy it at this price tally. Also, I think your post is an innapropriate use of this forum.
