So it was a great trip. All in all I am kinda a sad that I got back a week early but hey, we all cut our tags.

Anyhow, first day we got there, it was cold. Minus 10 and snowing ... :? oh well.

Not to worry. When I got back from my little reconessnse (sp) drive I found out we already had a deer in camp. :)

Well the next morning me and my friend (1st year hunter) went for a drive again. And again my ex-gf dad & grandpa had something waiting for us in camp...

Here is my friend and the coyote my ex-gf's dad got.

Of course my ex's dad also managed to get a buck at the same time. Here is a pic of our 'slaughter house' section of camp.

Well anyhow, this was day two and I was getting worried... well not really, maybe I just was not lucky enough... so, anyhow here is a pic of our kitchen area of the camp.

Well next morning me and my friend went out for a drive, and had a nice buck run away from us... :( my buddy was not too happy. Obviously since it was his first year, etc. I tried to break it to him in an easy way that some deer do get away.

Anyhow, upon returning to camp, we found that only my ex-gf's dad was there but not my ex's grandpa. Well, I thought I guess they got something again, i told my buddy this, and we were laughing... when we got out my ex's dad told us to go get something to eat cause we have some work to do...

I guess since my ex-gf's grandpa is the eldest hunter (76) it was fitting that he got the nice animal in the pic below.

He is on the left, I am next to the moose. A nice imature spike 2x2 that is legal to shoot in the region. (region 3). I am not a small guy, and that moose is quite big when you see him like that.

After that moose, I thought that things can only get better. And they did.

My friend got his first ever mule deer. Quite a nice one.

I finally got my nice 3x3 mule deer at 6:45pm on Oct.5th.

I guess after everyone had their tag cut it was only fitting that I would get me a deer too. :)

All in all the best and most fun hunt I have ever been on. Murphy's law I guess. Take 2 weeks off only to end up coming home with more deer than you can imagine and left over food and drinks..

Here is a final shot of our slaughter house

I really wish all hunting trips were as successful as this one but I know that it can not be true. I am really happy with the results and my friend who like i mentioned is a 1st year hunter will surely be a hunter for life now. It was a positive and fun experience for all and I am glad to be able to share the stroy with you folks.

Cheers and good hunting.

Alex

p.s.

Still gonna try white-tail in region 8 sometime before the end of november..... should be fun.

Wow! You had a great hunt! Thankyou so much for sharing. Where a bouts were you hunting? Having snow and all.

I know where Dumbdawg and Fogducker are having their Moose hunt, it is snowing and cold.. which is Fort Francis area. Haven't heard back from them yet. They are in a valley so cell phone calls are obsolete.

Mommabear,

We were hunting the 3400 road (Forest Service Road) network, near Hihum Lake.

Some locators for you would be Loon Lake in BC and Cache creek and Clinton also in BC

Cheers,

Alex

p.s. Not a lot of snow in our camp (less than 1"). Snow was found in higher elevations.

Oops,

forgot to add the whole total I guess.

4 Mule deer

1 Moose

1 Coyote

2 Black bears (let them both live, cause I'm such a nice guy )
No, no... they were just too cute and round and funny looking... and not black but cinammon...

Oh and we ate a few grouse at camp too.

Ahhh... you were thinking of Mommabear   what do you do with the coyote?

Good going!

Looks like an awesome trip for everyone involved.

Congratulations!

Unfortunatley the coyote had to be left in the bush. :(

180grain accubonds flying out of a 300 win mag kind of wrecked the hide.

Too bad really. It was a nice one. But it had a square foot of hide missing.

The shot was about 200 yds but still too much energy.

nice job olek nice lookin camp you got there
looks like i will be heading out with shotgun from CGN to try and fill my tag for deer and hopefully black bear

RobSmith,

Yup, took all three TOZ's out to play. Two .22's and my O/U shotgun.. :)

bone-collector,

Good news on the grizz. I will know about my luck of the draw sometime in February. It is for spring.

Alex

Great hunt...but most of all I am jealous of the snowfall...You would think that living up here in the Yukon we might have some snow by now, but Noooooo.

Hopefully soon though. :D
