I am done.

Jebus... So there's about 15 MILLION grains in one metric tonne. What are you going to do with "well over" 23 MILLION grains worth of lead? Cast cannon balls??

Not that I'm opposed to having and not needing, vs the other way around. I likely have more ammunition than I'll shoot in the next 5 years. But still. Holy crap, haha

You are right , odds are that i will never use it all but if somebody offers you a 3000lbs keel at 30 cents a pound what are you supposed to do?
Plus 1300 to 1400lbs of ww i think i'm OK, and even if you don't it all you can sell it down the road , it's never a bad investment.

I’m happy with 300 lbs WW and pure lead Muffins. Plus about 200 lbs pure lead round ingots and balls. And 100+ lbs Linotype.

Currently not actively looking for lead, but if the opportunity arises, why not.

OK just a small question could you give me a few hints as to where you pic up this quantity and quality of lead. I can get range lead by the boat load but not what you are talking about by the sounds of it...Steve O

Volunteered to clean out an indoor gun range. Gathered wheel weights and ended up with 10 5 gallon pails full. Melted range scrap and wheel weights for 4 days in a half of a 24 inch propane tank on top of a 45 gallon drum wood fire. Ended up with 2800 lbs in 3lb ingots(muffin tin coated in graphite). I think I have half left after 14 years of casting bullets. LIG

OK I have a question... I can get lead for boat keels.... is it any good and if not what needs to be done to it to make it good for target shooting...Steve O

Join castboolits.
There is a guy on there that you send a pound to and he will xray it for you.

You then adjust you %'ages to get the lead hardness you want.
