Hello there everybody I am thinking about over winter starting to set up a precision rimfire rifle. I am hoping to keep the rifle under $1500 before the optic. What would you recommend? Or what do you use for yours? I appreciate any and all advice.

Agree with everything said about the B14R. And as a plus Bergara isn't helping our government trample on us.For that budget, buying new, CZ 457 MTR, or a Bergara B14R.
I dont have the MTR version, I have a Varmint. I dont use it anymore, I use my B14R. They do have mostly the same upgrades available, but withbthe B14R, it mimics my center fires a lot better. I have both of mine set up very close to other center fires that I have.
Benefits and drawbacks to both, I just wanted a true feel so the transition is easier between rimfire and center fire.
Just to clarify, are you intending to shoot PRS/NRL22 or benchrest. Precision rimfire can mean multiple things and the recommendations would be different.Hello there everybody I am thinking about over winter starting to set up a precision rimfire rifle. !I a tally just picked up theB14R heavy barrel today and got everything swapped over. I'm working 12's right now, for a couple of weeks, so I won't be able to test it for a bit, but I'm hopeful for it. A longer, and heavier barrel, it balances better with my current set up, but I still need a bit more weight up front to balance where I want it. My current set up now weighs in at 17.0lbs, and I could use another 1 or 1.5lbs up front.Agree with everything said about the B14R.
