I AM looking into a Glock... Can I fire Copper Plated bullets ?

Many competitive pistol shooters have the opportunity to make fun of my steel 1911's on the firing line. I'm an old fart, I can take the ribbing. LOL

Yes, I'll be shooting 9mm CMJ reloads at paper since I'll never need anything bigger for a social situation, that's what the M14 is for, you know, "Never bring a knife to a gu......" I'm not worried about the unsupported chamber, gazillions of Glocks out there (especially in the sandboxes, right KevinB?) cannot be wrong. Just like the Browning HP's....

I would love to look into other plastic wonders, but frankly, I'm already in the camp of thinking that prefers to be able to fix everything that I own (fire). So I'm gonna go with the Glock from Police Ordnance.

I thank everyone here for their positive advice.

Good call. You will do well by Joe, and get a bit of recognition for your service.

The whole leading thing with Glocks is very overstated.

Don't use raw lead, but if you use any coated lead projectiles you will be fine - if you are worried just make sure that you clean the barrel every 200 rounds.

I use Frontiers and they are very good. But at the same time I use moly coated lead with no problems. Bottom line is that if you are not using raw lead you don't have anything to worry about.

.

Speaking of typical 1911 shooters, there are some companies that make thumbrests for Glocks for those really used to having that 1911 style safety thumbrest. Otherwise, not really an issue for two thumbs forward shooters
