I Bought a Beautiful Rifle a While Back ...Figured out pics now up

Great looking rifle you have there , maybe its just me but somehow those weaver rings and bases just look a little out of place on that rifle .

Stock is way nicer than any of the ridiculously high-combed stocks in weatherby's other offerings. Classic lines indeed. That's a weatherby I would consider buying. Absolutely stunning. Agree on the banded front sight. Oh well. No such thing as the holy grail

My goodness! That is one nice rifle. In my humble (and mostly out of date) opinion, that is one of the nicest rifles I've seen on here in a while. Classic and absolutely gorgeous. Those Weaver rings and bases are classics. I wonder how much game has been taken around the world with those rings and bases?

Thanks for taking the time to post the beauty! :)

Still a 700 fan Phil, but that don't mean I can't appreciate a beautiful rifle with a different name on it..........Winchester Supergrade......Sako A IV Safari......Sako full stock carbine........Weatherby Classic Safari.......see there's lots of pretty guns that don't say Remington on them.........and let's don't forget the Mirokus...........

Again sorry I can't post pics but maybe I'll figure out another site shortly.
I drooled over this rifle when it was introduced in the '80s and one came up on the EE this spring so I bought it. It is in the same class as my Sako Safari, it's a Weatherby Mark V Safari Classic in 375 H&H. I has a perfectly straight stock with end to end fiddleback, round short forend tipped with ebony with classic point checkering and an oil finish, quarter rib and banded front swivel. The only oversight in my opinion is it does not have a banded front sight. It has an engraved floor plate made of steel with Safari Classic engraved in a ribbon wound through other kinda floral engraving on the plate. This is one classy rifle and a huge departure from the "Weatherby" SoCal styling, it is 100% pure straight stocked classic down to the ebony grip cap and fore end tip, shadow line cheek piece, solid recoil pad and satin metal finish. I mounted a 3-9X40 Leupold on it for a shake down and load development.
If y'all want to see photos of it just google "Weatherby Mark V Safari Classic"........I'll get back after I do some range time with it but for now it is absolutely gorgeous.

Looks great....I've got a tikka hunter that has the same tiger stripe in the stock.
