I bought a Fobus holster, laugh at my stupidity.

I have several and I can see the problem you are having. As you grasp the pistol butt, twist it slightly out from your body, if you look down into the holster from the top you will see that inside the holster, on the outside of the gun it is smooth. Giving it that slight twist will open the holster slightly and release the trigger guard from the retention.

Once you learn this little trick you will find that they work quite well.

I played with a whole bunch of Fobus holsters at SHOT. For an Israeli made product, they are surprisingly bad! I think they had only one holster that I may have thought about using.
I actually like Serpa holsters! Never had an issue but just me!
For leather, Alessi, ,DeSantis, Milt Sparks and Galco.
Just ordered my first Solely Canadian holsters from Tim. Should arrive next week!! Hope they live up to the hype!

You wont be disappointed

What you described is exactly my experience with Fobus many years ago. Only after using the wife's hair dryer to heat it up and reshape it I got it to work better but I eventually moved on to Bladetech.

This is the issue though. Why should I learn some stupid twisting draw just to make a substandard product kind of work?

I've had 2. The first one was for an XD and it worked beautifully. 1000's of draws later, it's still a good holster..then i picked up one for a 1911....and it's easily the worst holster i've ever had... Not sure how the same company can make both.

A friend picked up one for a GP100, it's worked very well indeed. They seem hit or miss. They are a bit hard on the finish, but that's pretty common with plastic holsters
