Definitely rebore it or rebarrel it to .35 Whelen. .30-06 is about as exciting as saying "Heh! I just bought a 12 guage!" .35 Whelen, I say. Definitely a cool calibre. The .30-06 is very versatile and very flexible if you're reloading and very effective in the field, but it's soooo boring. Good luck on you're new rifle project!
