You mean metal not plastic. Got a metal tang safety.

I've had a Maverick 88. This gun seems to be a maverick 88, souped and built into a 500 level of standard. I noticed the action feels smoother and more solid than the 88.
 
I bought myself the 5+1 persuader with the 18.5" barrel for Christmas. Great gun. Reliable and I just LOVE the dang thing.
I threw a truglo clip on fibre optic front bead and you can't miss.

Persuader is a great buy!
 
I got one used a couple years back with a rifled slug barrel. I only ran a few boxes through the slug barrel, but was satisfied. the other barrel left me a happy man with a warm gun :) it rides behind the seat of my truck when the occasion calls for it.

I bought two new Maverick 88 shotguns today...

Left - Field model 12 gauge 28" barrel with modified Accu-choke.
Right - Security model 12 gauge 20" barrel 8 shot.
