Wanted to share some builds. Neither is completely done, like a project car you can always find something further to tinker with. Photos cover the development of both.
The "skinny" SKS was built to keep it as light as possible and weighs in at just under 7 lbs unloaded.

The SkSten was built around the sten stock look and the magazine duck bill delete adapter.

these should be in the next mad max. sten with GL looks cool.

however, i would be nervous firing a gun with the chopped top cover, seeing the carrier come so close to my eye.

so what adapter you are using for the mod mags?

getting Metro 2033 vibes from these guys! you bought em they are yours, do what you will with em.
for the record I think they are awesome!!

Just had a thought. Is it worth while reinforcing the cut out stock? Would hate to see it crack after being shot a bit.

I like the sten concept, very unique and creative. Looks like you'll have more a chin weld then a cheek but some foam and tape will cure that.

Wonder if you can weld in there a wire pistol grip?

Only once have I ever seen anybody do anything to an SKS to make it aesthetically pleasing. Also looks very handy. The question remains: how does it group?

From what I've read, it was captured from separatists in Ukraine. Only photo I've been able to find of it.

the groupings are poor cos the scope is bolted to the wood stock, thats a no no.

Dang that is a nice looking bullpup.

As for accuracy of the SKSten the G3 handguard is very loose currently. Looking to add some support to tighten it up. It splits groups about 8 inches into two nice 1" or 2" groups in the 2:30 and 8:30 positions.
Planning on shooting it more this weekend.

Haven't zeroed skinny again yet.

personally i think both of those rifles are ugly as phuck and look pretty stupid.
I mean really.... what's the point?

100% fail on every level if you ask me
