I can't believe STI quit making the TargetMaster!

Okay, I believe it. STI has stopped making the absolutely fantastic TargetMaster. And, the best all around target 1911, the RangeMaster.
STI has gone upscale, and who can blame them? My little used TM is now worth big bucks, but many of the new STI autos approach double the price of my TM. Ouch for new buyers!
6" bull barrel, 3 position adjustable Aristocrat rear sight, 3.0 pound carbon fibre curved trigger and the best rosewood factory grips ever included as OEM.
Eats Springfield RO's for lunch, creams Sig X5's, destroys Sig P210's and totally outclasses S&W PPC9's.

What's not to like?

Looks like your seeking acknowledgment. Right?

Love the STI brand, my Texicans are the best 1873 Colt clones money can buy, that is if you can find one, only 68 were ever made...

Looks like they are down to just 3 1911 models (only Sentinel Premier, Lawman and Trojan shown on the Freedom ventures website).

edit

Looks like that just reflects what the Canadian distributor has remaining in stock. The STI website lists only the DVI Classic under "1911". Everything else is 2011. I knew they had greatly reduced their 1911 line awhile ago but I hadn't realized they were all discontinued.

Really glad I got my Trojan in .45 when I did but now I kinda wish I'd gotten a 9 too.

Still give myself an occasional kick - I had an opportunity to buy either an HK 45 or a Sentinel Premier a couple of years ago for the same price. I bought the HK and immediately hated it.

They told me at the SHOT Show that they will make a Target Master if someone orders one. It's just not a regular catalogue item.

I just bought a new Targetmaster 9mm at incredible $1148 including tax, Labour day sale. It's now on the way and I'm really excited. The store has only one in stock, and I don't understand why no one picked it up in the past few years.

Absolute steal! Nicely done.

So is this like how N310 burns slower and needs heavier charges than W231?
LOL!!! Must be why you see so Targetmasters, or STI's in general, on the 50yd line........

I took a look at the STI website... looks like they’ve stopped making *all* models of 1911s! Only 2011s are shown on the site.

if that is truly the case, it’s a sad day for 1911 fans. The STI brand represented some of best value a available in the 1911.

Competition is fierce in the single-stack 1911 market.
Pretty much everyone makes one.

But the double-stack market has only a handful of players.
I can understand why STI would be going that route.

I loved STI and have a few, but their new direction and pricing has opened up other possibilities and I have pursued those avenues. The STI sweet spot has passed for me. Upsetting!

Same thing happened to the only STI branded wheel gun about 10 years ago. To some this fabulous SAA clone is a myth that never materialized, it’s definitely for real just very hard to find and commands a hefty price tag when one shows up for sale.

Took it to the range today. Great shooter. Very smooth and accurate. The sight and trigger are terrific. 10 shots in a 2-inch ring at15 yards
