What's the deal with those? Can you elaborate a bit, please?

Restricted / nonrestricted?
Barrel lengths? Are they interchangeable?
Can we feed it AR mags?

Nope, it is advertised as not being an AUG variant, depending on barrel length it may even be unrestricted. We just gotta wait for the RCMP to get a look at one :rockOn:
 
Well, look at recent trends. 5rd mags become 10rd mags for AR's. Who knows? Maybe we'll get lucky on all counts across the board. State Dept views it as something us Canucks can have, the RCMP realizes it isn't a Steyr AUG variant and that it fits all the protocols for either Restricted/Non-restricted approval.

Then we'll be getting some *ahem* "nice" looking guns.

Of course, Dr. Scholl is in the US, so it's a different story for him altogether. Lucky....
 
If that gets through, it's time to unrestrict AR15 type rifles. It's just getting plain stupid what is and what isn't non-restricted/restricted/prohib.
 
I don't see why the DOS would ban it from export, 20" barrel, solid stock unless they're sensitive about the hole BP thing.

IIRC it's a complete redesign of the AUG, although it looks like it it's different.

By the way, is this not made in Europe?? So US would have no say in the matter anyway, if we get it from over seas
 
The STG-556 looks like an AUG, but is actually a completely original design. They've improved on the AUG here in a lot of areas, including the trigger pull. They'll be making a semi-automatic and select fire version. But unless you're an LEO, you can't even look at the full auto. God I hope the 86 MG ban dies a quick and horrible death.
