I collect German WWII stuff, pistols, machineguns, Militaria etc.
For a number of years I looked for a matching K98k to fill a hole in my collection.

No luck.

I eventually found a nice 1941 Portuguese Mauser Contract rifle …. I am glad I bought it.

Rifle Sn. H1707.
Bayonet H19063. (Not matching but in the same H block.)

I am big on clear stock and metal markings and these Portuguese Contract guns are
very well marked in that regard.

Not a gun that has battle history….but a well preserved Mauser from that period.

Thanks John Spartan...mark k, Artyman, The Kurgan, and steve1973.

I believe that good photos are important for ones personal inventory records,
and they certainly help if you decide to sell stuff.

The 1937 and 1938 chamber dated Lugers both have two matching magazines. (Somewhat rare.)

Your MP40 and MP44 are making me feel extremely jealous, both of which are just drop dead gorgeous, where on earth did you find them ?

The stampings on that rifle are incredible - they look like a jeweler did them, not some dope in a max production factory. The other guns are beautys too, but you already know that. I won't add more drool to the puddle!

Now those items are something to be proud of!!! my lotto plans (like everyone around here) is to have that type of collection for each power. so far i'm working on Russia....in my price range right now and currently available. i agree with the quality of the photos. good job!

Nice collection. Law stated in his K98 book that the Port K98 was or only the most advanced collectors... I almost picked one up myself and regret not doing so.

Some of the Port K98's did see conflict, as the Germans did sypher some of the rifles off for there own purposes. I have seen Port K98's and Chinese Banner K98's that have been RC'd. So you know that some of these rifles did fight on the Eastern Front.

Nice collection and glad to see someone took advantage of grandfathering their prohib status. Sadly, I was too young.
