I couldn't be happier with my new 10/22!

So I felt like buying a non-tacticool plinker so decided to pick up a 10/22 off the EE (I lucked out and found one NIB). At the same time I ordered some Tech Sights to help improve my shooting skills with iron sights. Installing the Tech Sights was very easy once you get the Ruger front sight off ... which is a huge pain in the a$$. I thought I was going to break the barrel hammering on it so I decided to take it to a gun smith who also thought the gun barrel would break when he started hammering. Finally the sight came loose and the Tech sight poped in no problem. I was very pleased with the results of my first range outing. First-off, and likely by sheer luck, the Tech Sights were basically already sighted in. The POI was about 2" higher than POA (the silver bulls-eye in the pics) but that's close enough for me.

I was using Blazer ammo at 25m and 50m. The tightest groups were shot with the rifle resting on a single sand bag. The second tightest groups were shot with only by elbows touching the bench (to simulate prone shooting) and the worst groups were shot off-hand.

As you can see, my off-hand needs some work. Other than that, this little 10/22 is much more accurate than what I expected.

And a quick note on the Tech Sights ... THEY ARE GREAT! I need to pick up an AR15 tool to adjust the front sight but other than that the sight picture is great and they allow for accurate shooting. For those of you who are wondering, I picked them up at HiCal.
