I did a trigger job on my Mosin, I have a question

I just straightened it with a small set of needle nose pliers and then wrapped it two or three times around a 10-32 bolt until the two ends were a little less than 180 degrees from each other. Then I threaded some dental floss through the loops and pulled the spring into position with the dental floss. Drive the trigger pin back in through the spring loops, then pull the floss out.

I have to do another Mosin trigger job in the near future. I'll take pics when I do it and post em up.

How did you polish the trigger? Just go over it with a fine hone till it was smooth? I'm looking to try this with files and a hone.

Anyone know where to get a trigger return spring? Do you have to order the trigger kit with the spring and shim or can I just get it at home depot?

Just make one out of a clothespin spring.
Uncoil it, straighten it, wrap it around something the same diameter as the trigger pivot pin, then slide the pin through the coils of your new spring under the trigger.
Bend one end of your spring up, curved into the back of the trigger then clip off excess with wire snips. The other end should run along the inside length under the receiver against the inside of the one of the trigger mount tang. Clip it short with wire snips.

I use a Gatco knife sharpening kit for all my trigger jobs. With an added final polish with some emery cloth to get a mirror finish on both the bolt and sear. I also cut a pop can up to make small U shaped shims for under the sear spring to help shorten the pull and lighten the force needed.
