I did something I said I wouldn't do

I'm glad I'm not the only one then, sometimes it's super easy but then when I expect it to be simple the f*cker damn near requires a hammer. Oh well, still an awesome gun!

I sort of found a trick that most of the time works when it's hard. Try to push the stock out as if trying to open it farther then push the button. Sometimes wiggling it back and forth like this while trying to push the button helps.

I hope it loosens.

With my folder I found the most reliable method was to use my right hand and wrap my trigger finger under the button with my palm on top of the stock to push it up to fold. To unfold I would use my right hand thumb with my fingers on top of the stock. It got alot more reliable to where I could fold/unfold it like a natural motion. It may work for your rifle. If not, you can unscrew the button and dissasemble it. The machining inside is very rough, give it a polish and some grease or oil. The knob is staked in place so it will be tough to get off. I used a leather tab from a chinese SKS sling wrapped around it with my teeny tiny 6" pipe wrench, though pliers, channel locks, vice grips etc will all work.

I'm a tight ass when it comes to spending money !

too bad you're a tight ass cos i was about to recommend the smaller cousin CSA compact . not only its more fun than the CZ858 but it will also get rid of the fudds next to you ,lol .

BOOM, BOOM, BOOOM , flame shooting out . fudds scattering . :D

Are these CSA compact's able to use the drum magazine that are found on the AK's cause this would look really bad.
Damm I wish I was rich like you guys to afford all these bad boy toys.

Do you happen to have a picture of this Arma-Coat rifle?

Sadly Double P, I do not. But here's what i can do:

Arma-Coats CGN Forum http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=229

Thread full of a bunch of awesome looking Arma-Coated 858's http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=642869

Arma-Coats Web Page www.arma-coat.ca

They do a really good job and you can choose from a lot of different colours. Also, if you want it tricked out, they'll install everything before they ship it to you so you won't have to deal with it. All you have to do is email their sales department with whatever questions you have ( sales@arma-coat.net ) and they'll get back to you ASAP. Like i said, when all is said and done it's about 250$ extra for them to arma-coat the rifle for you so an 858 will run just shy of a grand (without a bunch of add on's like rails, FAB Defence pistol grip etc...) but it's totally worth it.

My'n sat behind the seat in my truck for a month or so once and if i do that with my normal rifles ,they rust. (dumb move, i know. don't have to tell me :)) When i finally remembered i'd left my 858 back there, i went to open the gun case expecting the worst but there wasn't a spec or rust on the thing. Anyway, enough of my sales pitch. You get the idea. You'll be happy if you get one. :D

(I don't work for them. I'm just a really satisfied customer and want them to do well in business  )

Needed to destroy an old external hard drive I had! These were caused by 7.62x39, straight through like butter! Note the little dent underneath! That was caused by a .22LR hollow point! It went in the front and dented the back:

Here you can see the exit holes of the 7.62x39, the small entry hole for the .22LR and the two entry holes for .45 ACP FMJ! One skipped up and the other was stopped dead:

Dug some of the 7.62x39 out of the embankment:

FYI... 7.62x39 FMJ will destroy an engine block!

your turn will come , be patient .

wrt the drum mag , nothing from an AK will fit a VZ58 so the answer is no.

but you can mod the drum to fit , i did it with a 40 rds AK mag .

i'll see if i can dig the post out .

So I walked into a local gun store the day after getting paid (and my first day out of camp) and decided I wanted something "fun". Didn't want an SKS and their "tactical" shotguns were lacking. The only things left besides bolt action rifles was a Swiss Arms or an CZ-858-2.

Came home with the 858 and a crate of ammo.

I said I'd never buy one but damn it was fun to shoot. The 5 rounds only in a mag is sad though :(

I had one problem with the thel ast round of a mag not being picked up. But that was minor and after quickly going through three mags before that as fast as I could :D

Welcome to the point of no return... ;)
