I don't like Bushnell anymore

The Bushnell 3200 and 4200 have lifetime warranties and for the first year have an over the counter warranty so if something goes wrong in the first year just bring it back to the store and they'll give you a new one.

Bushnell is a great alternative to the expensive Leupolds and offers the same or about the same optic quality.

Although if I had a choice id buy a leupold for one reason and one reason only over a bushnell and that reason is that they are made in the US while Bushnell is made in China. for cheap $100 scopes I don't care though.

and you can't really expect a company too replace a product that YOU broke. if there is something wrong with the product fine but if you chuck it in the lake or drop on some rocks thats ur own fault. that would be like buying a new car getting in an accident and then bringing it back to the dealer wanting a new one. would anyone do that?? of course not so why is it alright to the same thing with a scope and then get pissed when they wont replace it?

Leupold Rifleman are made in Asia apparantly. Only the cheapest Bushnell line is made in China....elite line is made in Japan.

Bushnell's are half the price of the leopolds. You had better expect either a better quality product or better service for what you spent.

Not to #####, but if you bent a tube because you dropped it or knocked it over, why should they cover it under warranty? Bad glass, seals, leaky or faulty assembly is what I would expect to be covered.

If I crash my truck, warranty doesn't cover it either. If you want an idiot proof warranty, pay the big bucks.

WRONG  They took 93 fuc%ing days to fix my brand new 3200 and did not offer to replace it over the counter. Nothing was ever said about the 30 day return BS until I got the scope back. 30 days not 365, I think its only in the US they get 1 year, but now I could care less.

I have already switched to Leupold.

I didn't drop the rifle, my wife knocked it over with an empty dog kennel she was carying. I didn't have enought room in the vehicle to put it in a case so it was going to be packed in there last.

Maybe the scope was installed wrong.....if the rings don't line up , you can bend the tube........
I used one of these VQ mounts and Leupold rings so I assume everything is lined up.

I don't think that Leupold's warranty repairs cost them that much, I have a Vari-X II on my 270 that I have been using for 26 years now and I have never had a problem with it and I am a shooter and a hunter so that rifle gets used a lot more than the average hunting rifle. I have never had any problem with any of my Leupolds.

I have had good luck with Bushnell myself; and luckily have never had to send anything in for warrenty. I have a couple Leupolds that are great to.

Is there a place in Canada that repairs Leupold scopes from warrenty?

I bought a used pair of 10X Swarovski high end binoculars...I got them cheap because the collimation was off (this means the two lenses didn't line up properly). I took them into a local (Red Deer, AB) Swarovski dealer (a camera shop)..he sent them off to Swarovski in Toronto or somewhere near there...a month went by...I asked what had happened and the dealer contacted Toronto...they told him that they hadn't been able to repair them so they had sent them back to Austria...another few weeks and they arrived back in Red Deer from Austria...looking like new..perfectly aligned and cleaned up too...It cost me?...NOTHING. No one even asked or mentioned a warranty or whether I was an original owner or any such nonsense...no questions asked..they repaired them and sent them back. NICE. They have worked perfectly ever since.

On the other hand, I bought a brand-new Swarovski 7x42 SLC binocular a number of years ago, used it and loved it. Astonishing optical quality. After several years of hard use, the focusing became gritty and rough feeling. I took it to the distributor (again, in Scarborough at that time) and they shipped it off to Austria. After about two months it came back, as you say, looking like new. They put new plastic housings on it, the eyecups were new, the diopter adjustment had been upgraded to the then-current configuration and they even installed a new strap! All for free...too bad they didn't fix the focusing problem, the only reason that I sent it in! They said that it was "well within spec". Was I disappointed? Does an Austrian s**t in the Alps?

I sold the binocular because it just drove me crazy every time I used it. Over the next several years I handled and examined several other brand-new Swarovski binocs and several of them had the same gritty, coffee-grinding feel to the focusing, including one example of the EL series, the Austrian uber-binocular. By comparison, a pair of Zeiss 10x40's dating back about 15 years, still functions and focuses superbly.

Sorry if this turned into a rant. Just the flip side of the coin.

Ive had nothing but bad service from b&l bushnell over the years, yes they are cheaper than some of the other top brands but their quality assurance and service is very suspect at least in my experience.

I don't know what you talking about  I work in a sporting goods store and sell these and there is indeed a 1yr over the counter warranty. Ive only ever seen 2 come back though but regardless we just give the customer a new one and send the broken one back to bushnell.

Well that sounds like good customer service by your store to me Chopperhead. Too bad I didn't buy from you. Can you get some details on that warrany exchange. IIRC, Bushnell states a 1 year exchange for American customers for 3200 and 4200 scopes and that the offer is NOT available in Canada. If so, who is paying for shipping and are the broken scopes coming back and how are they being sold?

I wanted a new trail scout w/nv so I called this guy and asked what he would do about warranty. Lets just say I didn't buy it, nor anything else.

Cheers,
Rob
