I don't see to many stores with Mosin nagants in them? Is it the shipping that costs so much and very little in it for the seller? I use to see them everywhere.

I think it's probably a combination of things, they seems like they would be a pretty low margin item, and for the size/weight of a mosin I would think the shipping/handling alone would make it make much more sense from a sellers point of view to carry other things they can make more money on.

Then you have the fact that most people who would want a mosin likely already have one (or 6), there's been soo many of them available for such a low price for quite a number of years that I imagine the sales have slowed down to the point that they're mostly sitting on shelves these days.

Canadian Tire in Vernon has a couple of very nice Mosins in their cabinet. I don't know if they will allow anyone to pick through the crates in back. They have on display a Molot M91/30 sniper that is beautiful and a 91/30 that is very nice as well.

I've noticed the decline too, I saw one at the lgs today at she was 229.00 + tax, last yr it woulda cost 179. I wonder is the mosin goodtime coming to an end?

Next year will be a $300 rifle. I just counted I have nine 7 Russian and 2 Finnish. I'm stocked up. I only buy if I find one with extra nice wood furniture. My wallet is on lockdown.

Pretty much. Anyone looking for a Mosin should be picking up some of these bargains on the EE right now.

I talked to the CT guy and he showed me the inventory prices, they make about 30$ on a mosin sale. That's pretty low for an item that takes so much room.

Wait for the dollar to go back up, every gun is costing 30% more just from the ####ty dollar. That's not even taking into account inflation and the natural rise in value of firearms.
