co worker asked if i would take him to the range since he didnt have a membership.
he wanted so sight in his Deer gun before the upcoming season opens.

i agree'd figuring i have 1 or 8 that i could probably chuck some lead with.

i asked if he wanted me to bring any pistola's for him to try.

he lights up!
"ohhh, you have pistols!"
so i said id bring a couple little tasty morsels for him to try.

2 hours later we are on our way back home and the whole ride back all he did was grill me on where i got my toys, how much, what would i recommend for him for a first pistol, ect ect ect.

i feel like i am a gateway drug to pistols!
maybe i should be hanging around bus stops in a trench coat or something...

im gonna go ahead and mark the canadian pistol owners as a +1 after that fun afternoon.
"its just sooooo relaxing, such a nice stress releaver!"
(thats my famous line i use when i take pistol virgins out to the range)

and i was gentle with him!

started him off with a .22
then up to a glock 17C.
then into a S&W M&P 9mm then into the .45
topped it off with some dirty 1911 action.

I hear ya......I went shooting with a couple of buddies of mine and let them try my M&P 9mm, since then one buddy bought one for himself a couple of weeks ago and another just picked his up today, a third will be picking his up tomorrow......contageous....

I am always taking buddies and their girlfriends or wives to the range . What I adore is taking someone with strong anti gun beliefs and converting them. Lol.

To date I have 2 buddies and 1 one young lady who have obtained their Restricted PAL and joined our club.

Always looking for converts to share the KoolAid with.

Well done, the more people we can get into shooting handguns, the better. It's been too long since I have had a newcomer to the range with me, but a new girl at work was asking me about getting a PAL and hunting yesterday, so thats good.

Got my wife to shoot my friends 22 handgun today. All of a sudden I'm told that getting my restricted licence would be a good thing. So now she says she wouldn't mind me buying a new gun. All these years I've listened to her complain about me buying rifles and all I needed to do was let her shoot a pistol. Momma always said I was the slow one!

wives are strange.
for 20 years my wife couldnt care less about my pistols.
i think i was able to make her shoot twice in 20 years.
then one day i take her and the glock out the range to do her 10 year re-certification (haha) and i showed her my GP100 and she wanted to shoot it.
i was shocked.... its huge compared to the glock that she already hates to shoot.
so i put a couple .357 in it and she spanks each of them into the bullseye and shes laughing like a crazy person!
just pure joy, thats all i can say to explain the look on her face as she danced around and laughed.
she loves to shoot the hand cannon.

i would have never thought the big framed wheel gun would be a girl gun.
makes a sane person wonder what else is going on in that head of theirs....

That's awesome! Think she's gonna keep shooting?

Maybe the heavier frame helps with recoil, and feels safer to her? Glocks might be a bit light for a new shooter. :)

I'd bet she'd like centerfire again if it was in a SIG or a CZ 75... :)

never thought of that.
i just always gave her the smallest ones i could find for her hands being small.

ill dig out my sig and maybe my old Ruger P89 and see what she thinks of those.
your probably right on the weight cutting down on the recoil thing.

You're not the gateway drug. The .22LR and 9mm calibers are the gateway drugs.

Honestly, you're more like the minister at church, guiding lost souls back to the truth. Preach on, my friend! I've got two friends looking to get RPALs all cause of my .22 :D

Kewl - love stories like that. I've got a neighbour who's been asking me about going out to try it. Soon, very soon.

I've had my wife out a few times now, even bought a Browning Buckmark for her to shoot. She's really has fun with it. She's also shot my G22, Beretta 9mm and a couple of rounds thru my Super Redhawk (.44 with the 8" barrel).

This past weekend I went out with my Savage 110BA (338LM) and she waited patiently for about 1/2 an hour before she prnounces "I wanna try it". I alsmost fell off the bench. So, I set her up, and she did it. Then 3 more times. I was proud of her and told her she's the only woman I know who has shot a 338 Lapua. (Course I don't know a lot of women who shoot, but it made her happy) ;)
