I found a NIKON Earth& Sky spotting scope do you guys think it will see a 30cal hole

I found a NIKON Earth& Sky spotting scope do you guys think it will see a 30cal hole at 300 yards, with a 22x60 strength if not what strength eyepiece would you say?

Did you find the scope with no eye piece and you are trying to decide what to get?
What's the objective size?
Nikon makes a pretty good scope but it's hard to see small holes at 300 yards.....

Usually it takes 60 x magnifacation to see 30 cal bullet holes at 300 meters, some guys think they can see them with less power, on their $3000.00 Sworovski's, but I can't do it on my $2000.00 Leica. FS

My 15X rifle scope can barely see a .22 at 100, so by that math, 45X for 300, a 30 cal is bigger, so maybe 40? 60 would definitely be better.

Whatever you do .. keep the Sky and Earth. They are discontinued and are a fantastic spotter for the money. You won't be disappointed. I found one in the US for $175 with two eyepieces. Can't say I have done much past 300 yards, but I can see my .30 cal holes with my Sky and Earth on a good day.

Most people own one spotting scope. Take your time and pick the right one.

I think 45x is a minimum for 300 yards. I have a 60X Bushnell.
