Just getting rid of junk AK mags --

For those who think the system rocks its mags are just as prblematic as some types of M16 mags...

Haha - one way or the other.

I've got to give your photographer some props - he captured the ejected shell casings in two of those shots, from multiple angles :)

Some things I learned 230gr M1911 ball wont always penetrate an AK mag at 15m

Shooting Ak mags repeatedly means locals wont take them from the trash and resell them to your local guards ;)

Peltor ComtacII's for ear pro

I was in a mischevious mood so I figured I'd psyche the Ak lovers up and leave them dejected :stirthepot2:

How reliable as your 1911 been? Any problems at all?

His hearing protection is Peltor Comtacs(comtacs II ?)

Edit: DOH. too slow.

Well today my Wilson 10 rds mags would not lock back

Went back to the CMC 8's and they are GTG. I think its Wilsons stupid polymer follower that is wrong - mind you its all four of them...

I just was using the 10rders as reloads - as rolling with a 10rd in gets stuck while getting in an out of vehicles. No big big loss.

I've shot a few hundred rounds - the only issues have been a total of 14 Failure to Fires (Dead Primers) - I had been using some 1943-60 dated ammo for range drills (good for stoppage drills ;) )
Running the M1911 ball and Hornaday TAP 230gr +P JHP its been flawless (touch wood) with the exception of today the Wilson mags not locking back...

So the 8rds went back on the belt - and the 10's - I'm trying to decipher why all of a sudden all four #### the bed.

Worst case - I've got 4 more mag tgt's

Kevin,

Change the mag springs, Wilson's are notorious for weak springs, and a sure sign of the spring needing change is when it is to weak to lift the slide stop to lock open. Another sign of weak spring is inserting mag when slide is locked back and the slide slams forward. Wilsons new and improved "Elite Tactical Mags" do address there weak spring issues. Also there polymer followers do wear out, but try the springs and see how that works. I've been told this from very knowledgable 1911 gurus (H. Yam )

Hope this helps and stay safe over there.

Mike
