So there is a Gent I know that has some firearms. After many talks with him, and his wife:D I was finally given a list of what he had

After a few talks with him his wife decided it was time for him to sell some of his guns. I seen a 45-70 listed and I couldn't beleive it when I seen it.

A Browning 1886 in 45-70 in it's original box, in the original plastic wrap, with the original grese in the action, ect, ect. Never been shot never been cycled, never even had a round put in the chamber. I asked him when he bought it. He opened his book and proudly told me 1989.

I then asked how much he wanted for it. He said that he didn't remember what he paid for it but figured that $800 was a fair price. :dancingbanana: I never wrote a cheque so quick in my life.

For your viewing pleasure.

So I figured that I needed a birthday present and a end of LGR present. Can't get much better than this. :)

I'm sure you will enjoy it, mine is an awesome shooter.
My Dear Wife gave me one for my birthday when they came out in 1989, so it is a cherished keeper.... ;)

Yeah, $800 is a great deal for it.

Back when they first came out I bought one NIB at the then local gunshop for $850 + taxes. Later sold it & regreted it.

Found another one circa 2005 for $1K, it had been shot, but was still like new with box, etc. I later sold it, too.

I have a Browning 1886 45-70 saddle ring carbine as well. It is a first class carbine. I've sold all my modern rifles and gone into hunting and shooting with old original Winchesters. I only kept one modern gun ..... my 45-70 SRC. You've got yourself a very fine gun at a very good price.
