I got a Tactical Bolt Knob for my AXIS!

I just finished installing the glades bolt handle on my ruger American predator. I'm super impressed with it. It was exactly what I was looking for, the communication was top notch and it shipped quickly.

How do you disassemble your bolt? I have a model 11 as well, but I cannot turn the hex nut at all. BTW, I just ordered a tactical bolt knob from Glades Armory.

i ended up using an electric impact driver and held on tight to the bolt............they do torque them down at the factory don't they.lol

I don't see it on their website and searching "axis" brings up nothing?

That is because the bolt handle he purchased is not meant for Axis rifles. It is meant for Savage rifles (Stevens 200, Savage 10, 11, 110, etc). They do not work properly on Axis rifles. If anyone in interested go over to Savage Shooters and see why.

I would never use heat to remove the nut at the bolt handle, just took the bolt out of the rifle and put it on the table and took it off, wasn't hard

They are specifically listed as having them for the models and for the axis...

So the Axis bolts don't work? Or is this an updated list to now include axis models?

Looks good. Will be ordering one for sure.

Thanks for the heads up OP

That's good news... Poor old axis'... it seems like everyone owns one, but it is the whipping boy in their gunsafes.... the slightly strange sibling locked up in the attic, that you don't want everyone to know about.... but, still too useful and kinda fun to get rid of.... I have had a 7mm-08 in an Axis here for three years, used it as a spare practice rifle for silhouette shooting.... probably only pulled it out 4-5 times, but shot 500 rounds through it.... it has the potential to shoot very well, actually.... replaced the 3-9 that the rifle came with, with a Bushy 6-24x40 silhouette scope.... still under 8 lbs. altogether! But the stock will have to go, it may shoot well, but, you can feel the stock flex every time you push on it a bit..... if you lay your index finger on that seam just behind the trigger guard, and apply some torque to it up and down, back and forth, you can feel it moving hugely....! So, that will have to go in time.... a trigger job helped to make for a nice pull, consistent and smooth..... Has anyone tried the after-market Boyd's stocks for the Savage Axis rifles....?
