Third owner now of this S&W Model 41 7" Barrel Serial # 111### from 1967/68. I think I got hosed on it though

Muzzle brake, light weight, heavy weight is in the pistol. clean kit (sort of) and screw driver. No box, no papers. Safety is almost impossible to take off and putting it on is a two hand operation that can split skin. Few dings in the wood nothing major. Few minor scratches on the right side. Screw in the end cap is marred wrong screw driver used

S&W Model 41 - Yep I really got hosed

We were having Thanksgiving dinner in Oct.2015 the subject came round to shooting and guns. When he told me he had "S&W 22LR pistol I should probably sell I haven't shot it in 5 years" I asked what model it was and he said "I don't know but it's got a real long barrel and comes with brake you can put on the barrel and a cleaning kit and some kind of extra rod" My ears went perk as the only one I knew that came with a muzzle brake was the 41. I asked how much you want for it. He said "I paid $350 in 1983 and I'd kind of like to get my money back as I haven't shot more than 300 rounds out of it probably less really".

I told him well they're a lot more than that now. After all he is a friend. "think about it and let me know" and I left it at that.

Then Saturday April 9 I called him and asked if he still had the 22. "sure." Sill interested in selling it? "Yes." Price still 350$ "sure sounds good." I'll be right over. I was at his house in 5 minutes he only lives a block away.

I looked at it laying on the table and gave him the 350$ before I even picked it up.

Monday morning he called it in to Firearms but they said the serial nbr must be wrong as it had no letters, so he had to go home and get out the pistol and papers and fax the papers to them then he called them and they gave him the transfer number. Monday afternoon I called and it was approved and forwarded to CFO I got the transfer email Tuesday morning and picked it up after work that night.

It's really pretty. With the heavy rod weight in the barrel it hangs just wonderfully. The safety already split my thumb. A good cleaning tonight and we'll shoot it off on Saturday temp is supposed to in the pluses with no *****%$#@! snow.

Yep I'm telling ya I really got hosed on this deal. ;)

ok sorry , don`t get the humor there but didn't mean to offend.

looks like a nice 41 for a great price.

No offence. Kamlooky speaks like that all the time. Surprised you haven't seen his posts before. That is just 'looky speakin Lookanese. It is a running source of amusement on CGN. It takes some gettin used to but with time like Egyptian Hieroglyphics can be read and understood. lol

Translation: Kamlookyish to English

"Young man, you are certainly not remaining silent on your good fortune. I am hopeful that a small application of an appropriate firearms lubricant will solve the issue surrounding the recalcitrant safety mechanism."

You're welcome.
