At my range, "make ready" means insert the magazine, or ammo into the tube/cylinder, rack the slide,/get ammunition into the chamber o ready to fire, if the firearm has a safety "put the safety on", gun in the low ready position, or on the bench muzzle down range, wait for the command "fire when ready"
Failure to put the safety on or any failure to "be safe" in any manner will get you booted for the day. 3 violations of any range rules in one year will cost you your membership PERMANENTLY. I do put the safety on.
I shot it Sunday and so good it made me look bad. Sweet. Makes my High Standard Victor look bad. Even my Browning Medalist was wearing a frown and it's not a true "target pistol" but oh so pretty, as I'm so often reminded
I buy them to shoot not sit in the safe. So now I have a 41 addiction.
