So in Canada, we must be quite a conundrum, IPSC World wise......surely most countries don't have different sections like we have here, or maybe they do and I am just way out in left field!

There may be other Regions that are divided up...I'm not sure. You actually belong to IPSC Canada...but join the Region though your Section.

I can kind of see why the US went to USPSA........not saying that is what is waranted, or wanted, but I can really understand it!

I believe the US operate on more or less the same system, with thier Area 1-8. I don't know how they elect thier RD.

My point was more to the effect that USPSA is not dealing with factors around the World....different laws for different countries, even customs, and how one views certain articles of clothing......I can see why USPSA decided they wanted to be their own entity, and not deal with worldly crap!

My personal view is, if it is safe, it is good!.....Others don't see it that way, and want to pander to the do gooders of this world. Which is all fine and dandy until the do gooders out number the common sense holders. Which is where I think IPSC World is at now, or maybe they always were, and I am just late to the party!

Sean has already spoken out in objection to the proposals. So there is is no need to hammer him. But I think it would be good to give him some ammo for when he is talking with the other RD's.

I think John is right, we should lobby our Regional Director, for what we want....hopefully he can talk some sense into other Regions.

Actually...you should lobby your Section Coordinator (or any member of the BOD) and they will deal with the Regional Director on behalf of the Ontario members.

I believe Vinny has reserved a special place in hell for those of us from Canada that have joined USPSA.
We are now on the list of the 2 things he hates the most:

  1. Canadian ISPC members that don't agree with him
  2. USPSA members.

I too have had a run-in with him. Although I didn't get punted, I was told that he would no longer respond to any of my questions.
 
I have my new response now, if someone asks me why I want to shoot IPSC.

I want to join IPSC so I can get banned from Global Village too. I am feeling a bit left out.
 
Rotary International is an organization of service clubs known as Rotary Clubs located all over the world. The stated purpose of the organization is to bring together business and professional leaders to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.

I guess not all members strive to embody the stated purpose of the organization. It would seem some members look on the club logo as 'giving the gears' to those who have the temerity to publicly voice opinions contrary to their own.
