Yes. I'm from the Philippines but I live in Hong Kong with my husband. I use pokpok for fun becoz when I was learning to shoot I joked that's the sound my .22 gun made, so my girlfriends called me pokpok.

A 'double entendre' is always fun when both meanings are understood. There is a large Filipino community in Toronto and, over the years, I have worked with and shot with many. My very limited knowledge, pronunciation and sometimes intentional misuse of Spanish has always been good for a chuckle.

I guess its just a defense mechanism brought on from my childhood. I used to be the happiest kid in school untill I can home one day to find my dog being savagely gang raped to death by preists from the church next door :eek: my parents said I was never the same after that summer afternoon. I'v never been able to get close to anyone out of a deep dark fear that one day I may lose them in the same horrific manner. so I push everyone away with my sarcasim and brutal honesty.

We always tease one of the Tsinoy (Chinese-Filipino) girls in our group by saying the Tagalog word "unggoy" (monkey) when we should be saying the Cantonese word "m'goy" (thank you). She knows both words and knows we're teasing her.

Pokpok, funny?!?!?!? You think that was supposed to be funny. It was a traumatic and horriffic turning point in my development. Do you think I would go to that dark portion of my past just for your sick and twisted amusement? There is NO avenue for change unless HE authorizes it.
