Well I lurn not to long ago that we (Canadian) just lost the 858. I was ok with it, then it hit me today :ang I want one bad and now I won't be able to buy a new one :-( I wish I had bought 2 or 3. So the csa one, it might be a ignorant question but does it comes with the threaded barrel and bayonet?
 
CZ 858 update.

Wolverine Supplies will no longer be importing the CZ 858 rifle into Canada. Our last two shipments (Dec 2012 and Feb 2013) were detained by CBSA, they sent three samples to the RCMP for examination who informed CBSA that they are prohibited. Last week we finally got word that we had successfully returned the rifles to CZ. At this point in time we still do not have any written report on the rifles that were examined. We are now informed that as we have no rifles from that shipment in Canada we have no grounds to appeal the CBSA decision to the Customs Trade Tribunal. We have heard all kinds of rumours and speculation but nothing that we can base a sound business decision on.

Regretfully we have no choice but to cancel all outstanding back orders for the CZ 858 rifle, in all models. Anyone who had placed a deposit will be getting a full cash refund.

We are extremely sorry for any inconvenience that this may have caused our customers.


well #### me, there it is.
 
you may find some place who have them in stock , but no more new imports , wolverine say they were working to import a 958 but we still not having more detail ...

As the other said.... I check cabelas, they seem to have replace ot with the csa vz 58... to me it su@ks but if at least the csa have the bayo lug and treaded barrel il get true this?
 
Wolverine may not import the 858, but someone else may try. I guess it all depends on what information can be found on why the last shipment was "prohibited"


But as mentions wolverine is working on a 958, looking forward to more info on that.

Ok heres the thing with the 858 they have 3 class for it already. Restricted, non restricted, and prohibited. the first batch was deemed to be prohibited because of the different trigger and housing the new one was newly manufactured so it was a new firearm and got restricted and non restricted due to it not being able to fit the full auto parts as the trigger was different.

That's the history behind them... If the factory shipped them with the original receiver they're prohibited if they made new ones like they were doing before it's not because they're different parts. It could be someone at the border made a mistake held the shipment up and screwed up trying to block them.

They take the old guns and make newer guns out of them by using old parts once it drys up the price will go up or they will stop making them so they won't be around forever...

No, a shipment being imported into Canada was deemed prohibited after examining three rifles from the import. The shipment has been returned to cz, thus wolverine is expecting a summary of some sort from cz as to what the RCMP did to the rifles. Plus wolverine is seeking access to information from the RCMP as to why they are prohibited.
 
If memory serves me correct the original cz858 that was used in Czech Slovakia was a full auto. I beleave the RCMP has deemed these to be converted auto if it not a semi auto only newly manufactured receiver
But that is just what I have heard through the grape vine

And not too case a ruckus or anything but has any body come to realize that there has been a lot of issues like this happening. Since the end of the LGR in Canada ( except us pour saps punt in quebeckistan?

Ok thank you for the info! Yeah I know there still available second hand but I'm not to fund of buying a second hand gun for some reason :p
 
I was looking for a nr cz858 and I ran across this at thegundealer ( spomcer here) SEMI AUTO RESTRICTED CENTER FIRE RIFLE, REAR FOLDING STOCK, 16" CHROME LINED BARREL, VZ SCOUT TOP MOUNT, BUSHNELL RED DOT, DETACHABLE MAGAZINES (2). For 550 $ :O

Let me highlight that for you.
 
Let me repeat for the 18th millionth time, the 858 is not currently prohibited, nor currently in the process of being reclassified. This was just one shipment in question.


Let's stop the madness please!
